HACS Academy Admissions Process
The Application, Video Submission, and Teacher Recommendation links will be active from January 24, 2025, and remain open until March 5, 2025.
Application Acceptance Letters will be mailed by April 4, 2025.
How to Apply:
Step 1: Fill out the District Academies Common Application

Step 2: Teacher Recommendation
Please share this link with at least three (3) teachers who will complete a recommendation on your behalf.
You can share this link with teachers beginning on 1/24/2025.
Step 3: Hiram Academy of Computer Science Specific Requirements
Submit a personal video; this is your opportunity to be as creative as you would like. The video must be two minutes or less and answer the following questions.
1. Tell us a little about yourself and why you wish to be a part of the Hiram Academy of Computer Science.
2. As a student, what attributes do you have that will make you a valuable addition to the HACS Program?
You can either upload your video or provide a link to the video in your OneDrive folder along with the other required documents. Videos that exceed 2 minutes will be stopped at the 2-minute mark and the remaining video will not be viewed by the Screening Committee.
Gathering Information for Your Application
The directions linked below offer guidance for obtaining the information you need for your application. Follow the directions to access and print:
- Report Card (8th grade report card)
- SLDS report showing Lexile, attendance, and Milestone scores (see directions)
**The academy you are applying for will obtain your discipline report from your counselor.
